Spirituality and Culture SITEMAP

"One cannot think or act anywhere
as if we do not all have a supernatural destiny."
Marurice Blondel

Spirituality and Culture is a resource offering services for holistic well-being and spiritual growth
using Action Methods and Dr. Donell Miller's "Open Story System." Services include Groups, Retreats and Workshops as contexts for counseling, life-coaching, psychotherapy and role-training for intercultural competency. Although we specialize in culture-drama for intercultural issues, we also cover the whole range of action methods including Psychodrama, Sociodrama and Bibliodrama.

Our team, Dr. Donell Miller and Dr. Jon P. Kirby, is dedicated to building a fully intercultural world, where every people group is honored and respected, where the vast riches of human experience are shared and enhanced for a balanced and true globalization. We are dedicated to building ridges between cultures for intercultural development, human flourishing and the honor and glory of God. We are dedicated to the practice, development and promotion of action methods for an Intercultural World, an Intercultural Ministry, and an Intercultural Workplace.

Culture-drama explores relations between religiously and culturally diverse groups and transforms these through action. Where sociodrama deals with groups of the same language and culture, culture-drama works with groups of different religions, languages, cultures and world-views. It expands the sphere of interaction dramatically to meet the special needs of our global era. Culture-drama promotes healthy, harmonious, intercultural and inter-religious relations leading to social and global wellness. It helps groups to bridge diversity issues and develop intercultural competency. Participants use action techniques to explore and differentiate issues at three levels affecting relationships--personality issues (different personality but same roles and culture), social issues (different personalities and roles but same culture) and intercultural issues (different personalities, roles and cultures). Within a secure environment it helps groups interacting as collective protagonists, to engage in classical encounter, uncover innate biases and stereotypes, and through various action techniques begin to see through each other's eyes and step into each other's shoes.

We offer training, as an integral part of our programs, for a broad range of professionals in the methods, theories and philosophy of J.L. Moreno, the originator of Psychodrama, Sociometry, Role-training and Sociodrama. CEUs are approved for MFT and LCSW by the Board of Behavioral Sciences--Dr. Donell Miller Provider--and hours in Drama Therapy and Psychodrama are approved by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy.
